Greetings - thanks for coming to the Equines by Design website -whether it be your first time...or just checking back regularly to see what we have available.

It's been a busy year - our mules have sold before we get good photos up on the website this past spring and early summer - the stout bay molly is sold, the sorrel john mule that has reining training is sold...the draft x john paint mule has sold...

What we are offering for sale currently - We have three nice saddle mules that we have been working with exclusively this past '08 spring and summer that are gentle, well-trained, good looking - we hope to get photos up this week (mid-August) they are all easygoing, experienced mules with a lot of unique color...please check back if you are looking for an honest, confident friendly mule to ride. They were started as 2 and 3 year olds...with additional training each year...until as 5 year olds and older, they are experienced, mature and solid.

Thanks for visiting our website - if this your first time, welcome...I know that for many of you, you keep an eye on what we are working with and offer for sale and thanks for coming back.

We have been training mules for 30 years now, since 1978..and horses several years earlier than that. And we look forward to another 30 years with these unique longears. It has been a wonderful journey and we appreciate everyone who has encouraged and supported us, family, friends and customers. Thanks for your confidence in our training and animals that we offer for sale. At this point, the majority of our business is selling to repeat customers...following that would be word of mouth about our animals...thank you for that...thre's not much of a profit if you put a pencil to it selling mules that you raise, train and put experience on for 4-5 years...but having mules go to good homes, with appreciative buyers makes it worth the work!

Our Jack "Amarillo Slim"(above) is an own son of JenJack. He was 1985 Bishop Mule Days World Champion Jack and 1986 Houston Livestock Show Model Donkey. Siring mules with tremendous disposition, conformation and athletic ability.

We have been raising and training mules since 1978. Our mules are good-minded, with sound conformation. They are trained with natural horsemanship techniques. These mules are pretty enough for the showring, but good-minded enough to be great TRAIL animals.
What a year - diesel is $4.50 and up around the country. I realize that some people are having trouble selling their mules, but for us...our customers are more serious than ever about buying a quality mule that is broke, gentle and will add to their enjoyment of life. They want it now...not after buying 2 or 3 cheap ones that are not fun to handle, ride...and possibly even put them in the emergency room...we raise, train and sell the type of mule that we personally want to ride and enjoy!

We have been fortunate to raise and train some great mules over the past 25 years. Mules that are "willing partners", successful in the showpen as well as great trailriding companions. Thank you for our success--to our family, friends, mentors and customers.

If you are looking for a really calm, gentle riding animal that is not spooky or a run off, with lots of personality, you should consider a saddle donkey. We have started appreciating and enjoying the mammoth donkeys for trailriding and as loyal companions...if you'd like to see what we have for big donkeys that ride, some drive, see our website www.DonkeysAtWindchimesFarm.com .
